In this virtual presentation to the BU research community, Dr. Bill Riley, Director of the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), will highlight the behavioral and social science research priorities of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as how researchers can engage with OBSSR.

The presentation will touch on the behavioral and social sciences generally as well as three critical public health areas: COVID-19, structural racism, and firearms violence prevention. Dr. Riley will explore how these public health crises have shaped future directions of NIH public health research and behavioral and social sciences research.
